Warning – Body function discussion.
Well, I spent Tuesday drinking that bottomless gallon of Go-Litely. I had called my Gastro to let him know that I was getting into serious trouble again. The last two times I’ve used Milk of Magnesia nothing happened. So I used a Fleet laxative last week, with little action from it. The bloating and gas have been extremely uncomfortable and terribly embarrassing.
The Go-Litely worked. I was cleaned out enough to have had a Colonoscopy, but even that took 2 hours before it started accomplishing anything. Since then the gas has been terrible, just as before, but my abdomen is not tight like it was. I’ve also been hungry, but I’ve noticed that can sometimes be my brain misinterpreting stomach pain.
I’ll call my Gastro today and give his nurse the report. I’m hoping there is some other med he can try besides the Triavil, but I know his choices are limited. I am still leaving off the 1/2 pill of Primidone at lunch, so that should help a little anyway. The Primidone slows down my muscle contractions, and must be doing the same thing to my digestive tract. I’ve also noticed that the rectal muscles are extremely tight, as if they were in spasm.
We are having rainy weather again this week, so no yard sale this weekend. But I continue to move things from the house out to the garage, and it’s finally beginning to look less cluttered around here. Hubby has even been inspired to clean up around his recliner – a chore I don’t dare tackle, as I would throw away something important to him.
The Lost Toys Search Service is moving along well, and I’m actually caught up with posts for the first time in months. I’ve started back doing just a little of the Tai Chi in the mornings. My form is horrible, but I still remember how to do it. It will take time before my body stretches enough to do the poses correctly. One step at a time is better than none.
We’ve looked at treadmills a couple of times while we’re out shopping, and that may end up being on our buy list. If we do that we will put our exercise bike in the yard sale. I have a coccyx problem, and, even though we added a super padded seat to the bike, I can’t stay on it very long at all. I continue to up my activity level each day and am feeling pretty good about what I can accomplish now before I get too tired.
So I am making progress with the exercise, but still not pleased with my digestive system situation. I’ll keep working on it, and hopefully Dr. B will have some new plan for me that will work better this time.
